Lenny Kravitz pays tribute to Pink Floyd at V Festival

Lenny Kravitz played a mid-afternoon expansion slot at today's (August 16) V Festival - covering tracks by both Pink Floyd and Michael Jackson.


Performing at the Staffordshire situation on the V Stage, the rocker came onstage at 4.35pm (BST) sporting a black leather jacket, dark glasses and a black Flying V guitar.

Kravitz was joined on stage by 2 trumpeters, a saxophonist, full band and a guitar player - wHO bore a stunning resemblance to Guns N Roses legend, Slash, with his black elevation hat and curly mop up of hair.


A large crowd braved the afternoon showers, however, to catch a glimpse of the New York rocker and were treated to a place including 1991 single 'Always On The Run' and his cover up of The Guess Who's 'American Woman'.

Kravitz, kept his shades on until launch into huge hit 'It Ain't Over Til It's Over', a huge dearie with the crowd.


Then during next song, 'Dancin' Til Dawn', Kravitz said: "You're just having a good time today aren't you? - so keep terpsichore. I wager you like me like those old records from the late 70s and early 80s."


The crowd cheered before Kravitz mixed up the path with 'Another Brick In The Wall (Pt II)' by Pink Floyd and Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' - acquiring crowd to chant back.

Kravitz concluded on his one UK chart-topper, 1999's 'Fly Away' and then 'Let Your Love Come Down', which saw him approach down to the front of the crowd to shake hands with his fans.
